G&S Fruit Supplies Evironment Policy
. G&S Fruit Supplies Ltd are a catering supplies company in the
fresh food industry. Our principal activities include procuring
packing and delivering fresh produce to our customer base
using our own fleet of vans.
. We recognise however that in our day-to-day
operations we Inevitably impact on the environment in a number
of ways and we wish to minimize the potentially harmful
effects of such activity wherever and whenever possible.
. We attach maximum importance to matters concerning
the environment. Our policy is to meet and, where practical,
exceed all relevant regulatory requirements and to minimise
any adverse environmental effects caused as a result of our
activities.
. We will continually assess the environmental impact of our
operations and, through minimising the use of materials and resources,
we will reduce our wastage to the lowest practical level.
. Consideration will always be given to the
environmental effects of materials used for packing and
wherever possible we will use materials and boxes that can be
recycled.
. Through strategic planning we will minimise the
environmental effect of new developments and aim to include
environmental considerations in investment decisions.
. Employee involvement in environmental matters is
encouraged at all levels and will be promoted through
training, communications and a constant reappraisal of working
methods and techniques.
. Our Environmental Management System which applies
to all our activities provides for the setting of objectives
and targets and it is our aim to secure continual improvement
in environmental performance.
. The Board of Directors is committed to the
implementation of this policy and will give full backing to
all those authorized to carry it out.
To reduce the environmental impact of G&S operations
servicing HEIs we will Procure where possible from local growers.
